SAN FRANCISCO — The University of Colorado men's golf team opened in a tie for 15th place here Thursday after the first round of Stanford's "The Goodwin," which was completed here Thursday.
Despite 14 teams in the field in the top 75 (and 18 in the top 100), only three teams of the 28 competing scored rounds under par Thursday. Host and No. 28 Stanford turned in the best score, a 7-under 273, with No. 13 Oklahoma in second (5-under 275) and No. 11 Georgia Tech in third (277). No. 35 Washington and No. 66 San Francisco are tied for fourth, all in with even-par 280s.
