DRIGGS, Idaho — The University of Colorado men's golf team had an uncharacteristic poor showing in the afternoon round here Monday, as the Buffaloes ended the day in eighth place in the University of Utah's Showdown in the Rockies.
CU was in fifth place after turning in an even-par morning round of 288, but ballooned to a 16-over 304 the second time around the 7,613-yard, par-72 Huntsman Springs Golf Course track to slide some 27 strokes back of the leader and host Utes.
Play was called because of darkness with two threesomes remaining on the course; they'll finish first thing ahead of the field on Tuesday.
