AUSTIN, Texas – Facing some of the toughest competition in the country, University of Colorado sophomore Andrew Ghizzone and senior Abrianna Torres began their outdoor seasons in the combined events on Wednesday at the 89th running of the Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Ghizzone finished the first day of the decathlon in 16th place with 3,417 points, while Torres finished day one of the heptathlon in 24th place at 3,004.
Ghizzone started the day in the 100-meters with a time of 11.49 seconds (17th overall), beating his personal-best of 11.63 by over a tenth of a second.
