Emma Coburn and Shalaya Kipp will keep the Olympic tradition alive among former Colorado track and field standouts.
On Sunday, the two former Buffaloes landed spots on the U.S. Olympic Track and Field team later this summer in Rio, with both athletes qualifying in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Coburn turned in the top overall time, finishing in 9 minutes, 35.28 seconds. Kipp finished sixth overall in 9:38.01. Current CU star Erin Clark finished 23rd with a time of 10:00.85. Former CU runner Aric Van Halen also competed in the steeplechase, finishing 16th overall while just missing the finals.
