Jenny Simpson’s track & field career has been nothing short of phenomenal. The 2009 CU grad is easily in the conversation for the school’s all-time greatest athlete (hey, that’s a good idea for an article) and can stake a claim as the best American long distance runner. On Tuesday night, Simpson became the first ever American to medal in the 1,500 meter run with her third place finish.
Simpson wasn’t the only CU grad to make Olympic history this week. Just yesterday, 2013 graduate Emma Coburn became the first ever American to medal in the Steeplechase.
