Four days after entering the transfer portal, Sam Noyer announced that he is transferring to Oregon State.
Noyer is originally from Beaverton, Oregon, so this will be a homecoming for the sixth-year senior quarterback. He will immediately contend for the starting QB position, as he is now the favorite to beat out Tristan Gebbia and Chance Nolan.
Even if he isn’t the most polished passer — and we will find out on Nov. 6, 2021 what he looks like fully healthy — Noyer will bring toughness and leadership to the Beavers. He’s exactly the kind of player head coach Jonathan Smith is trying to develop at Oregon State, so bringing him in as a transfer should be great for both parties.
