Edwards is entering his 17th season at the reins of the Buffalo program, with this team having as much if not more potential as he's had during his tenure. Despite being young – one senior, six sophomores and two freshmen – the sophomores are all experienced and the two frosh include the state of Colorado's top prep performer. Leading the way is sophomore Justin Biwer, who set 19 school records as a true freshman last season.
The season gets underway on Sept. 4-5 in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Classic, the fourth time the Buffaloes are entered in the prestigious meet; CU finished ninth out of 14 teams last October in the event, with true frosh Dylan McDermott finishing third with a 7-under 203 score.
