The safety position for the Colorado Buffaloes has been a little precarious in recent years. A mixture of grad transfers (thanks for everything, Mikial Onu) and junior college transfers have plugged the gaps, but going into next year, the last man standing is converted wide receiver Derrion Rakestraw. Reinforcements are en route for Mel Tucker, mostly by way of Christian Gonzalez.
Christian plays safety and wide receiver for the The Colony High School in Texas, just outside of Dallas. Gonzalez had a few connections to Purdue, and was committed there before the allure of Mel Tucker and Colorado Football proved too strong.
