EUGENE – Colorado track and field senior John Dressel concluded his lustrous career for the Buffs here Wednesday evening at the NCAA Championships in the finals of the men's 10,000-meter run.
Dressel finished 12th overall in the second-best time in CU history at 28:03.87. The senior was just two seconds off the 41-year old NCAA meet record of 28:01.30 held by Suleiman Nyambui of Texas-El Paso in 1979. Patrick Dever of Tulsa won the race in a new meet record of 27:41.87.
The senior started out the race in 10th, sitting there through the first 10 minutes of the race.
