BOULDER – Leave it Colorado football coach Mike MacIntyre to know his zoology.
Buffalo do, in fact, walk into the storm.
At his weekly Tuesday press conference, MacIntyre, addressing a report that he would be fired at season’s end but allowed to coach the final two games, held up a painting he said hangs in his office. The painting is of a buffalo (OK, I know it’s actually a bison – there are no buffalo in North America – but they’re not called the CU Bison) trudging through a blizzard, which MacIntyre felt was a perfect metaphor for what he – and his team that’s on a five-game losing streak – are going through.
