If the Colorado men’s basketball team manages to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016, the Buffaloes will do so without a key piece of their vaunted sophomore class.
On Wednesday, head coach Tad Boyle announced that 7-foot center Dallas Walton will miss the 2018-19 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. Walton, a home state recruit from Arvada West, suffered the injury at practice Tuesday, chipping away at a frontcourt depth that previously was a source of confidence for Boyle.
Walton also suffered two torn ACLs in his left knee during high school, suffering his first during his sophomore year and then re-tearing it during one of his final tests to be cleared in 2015.
