CU’s success in Texas recruiting continues into the 2018 class, as the Buffs picked up their first Lone Star State commitment today in Josh Jynes. The center plays for DeSoto High School in Texas, a powerhouse program that sent two receivers, K.D. Nixon and Laviska Shenault, to the Buffs in the 2017 class. Jynes started last year on the state-championship squad, and chose the Buffs over offers from Rice, UTSA, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Jackson State. CU being the first major program to offer someone in Texas isn’t new. Last year, they uncovered a lot of gems, some that they kept and some that bigger programs stole later.
