As expected, a preseason vote of league coaches shows the Colorado women's lacrosse team should be a contender in the first season of Pac-12 Conference lacrosse.
On Monday, the league office released its preseason coaches poll, with the Buffs checking in at No. 2 behind USC. CU received one first-place vote and collected 21 points overall, finishing just four points behind the Trojans. USC defeated CU last year in the championship match of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
CU, USC, Stanford, Oregon, and Cal all previously were part of the MPSF, but with Arizona State adding a new program this year the Pac-12 finally had the requisite six programs to sponsor a women's lacrosse league.
