CU women's golf team finishes fifth at Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The University of Colorado women's golf team finished its first tournament of the spring season here Tuesday in fifth place at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue.

The Buffaloes, ranked No. 19 in the latest GolfStat poll, combined to shoot 298 or 14-over par in the final round of the 54-hole event, the second lowest round score in the field. They posted a 55-over par, 907 overall team score for the tournament. Fourth ranked Arkansas won the event staying atop the leaderboard all three days and carded a 30-over par 882.
