Kirsty Hodgkins' 4-over 75 paced the Colorado women's golf team on the first day of the Pac-12 Championships on the Palos Verdes Golf Club course in California, but the Buffs are ninth of 11 teams after shooting a combined 27-over 309 on Monday.
The leaders after the first day are Southern California, as the Trojans shot 1-under 283. Stanford, Arizona and Oregon are all in the mix as the three teams are within nine combined shots of USC.
For the Buffs, Hodgkins is followed closely by several teammates. Gillian Vance shot a 77, Malak Bouraeda a 78 and Kelsey Webster a 79 — giving CU four individuals in the top 45 of the event so far.
