For much of Saturday afternoon, defense wasn't much of a priority for the Colorado women's basketball team.
After deciding to make it a priority, the Buffaloes dominated.
Lauren Huggins and Jamee Swan scored 16 points each and CU generated 13 steals in a 72-60 victory against Presbyterian at Coors Events Center.
Trailing the Blue Hose (4-6) by four points with about six minutes to play in the third quarter, the Buffs (5-5) employed a full-court press on defense. That led to a series of Presbyterian turnovers, several of which CU turned into points.
Presbyterian had nine turnovers — five on CU steals — in the third quarter, with eight coming after CU went to a press.
