Gabby Simpson keeps reiterating she has been putting in extra hitting time during the CU volleyball team's practices. That hard work is bringing in some hardware.
On Monday, Simpson was named the Pac-12 Conference offensive Player of the Week after leading CU to a perfect 4-0 mark at the Omni Invitational.
The sophomore averaged 15.8 kills during the four wins, and with 21 kills on Friday against Montana State and 16 that night against Weber State, Simpson eclipsed her previous career-high twice in one day.
Simpson, the tournament MVP, also matched a career-best with five aces against George Mason and posted five blocks in the tourney finale Sunday night against Air Force.
