STEAMBOAT SPRINGS -- The University of Colorado moved up one spot to fourth place in the NCAA Skiing Championships team standings with a win from junior Mads Stroem in the men's 10-kilometer freestyle cross-country race on Thursday.
The Buffs also improved thanks to a second-place finish from sophomore Petra Hyncicova in the women's 5K freestyle race at Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs, where the Buffs are hosting the national championship.
With 214.5 points, defending national champion CU still trails the championship leader Montana State University, which finished the first two days of competition with 282 team points.
