STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The University of Colorado crowned another national champion on Saturday with junior Mads Stroem's win in the men's 20-kilometer classical cross-country race at Howelsen Hill.
This marks Stroem's third national championship win in three years. Earlier this week he won the men's 10K freestyle cross-country race.
His win, combined with freshman Petter Reistad's ninth-place finish and senior Arnaud Du Pasquier's 19th-place finish, helped propel the Buffs to third place in the team standings, though 67 points still separate CU from the University of Denver, the team leading this NCAA championship.
