Justin Wilcox's first season as the head football coach at California exceeded many outside expectations.
Heading into his second season, however, he's hardly satisfied.
"We won five games last year, so that's not good enough," Wilcox said this spring. "We have to improve physically, we have to improve our understanding of the game, we have to build on the chemistry in our locker room, which I think we got a really good start this offseason.
"I'm excited with the way guys are working and some of the gains we've made, but we have to continue to get better because it's obviously a very competitive conference and the teams we play are good football teams and we have to do a better job.
