The terrorist attack that left dozens dead in Brussels, Belgium, hit close to home for the Colorado men's basketball team.
The hometown of Thomas Akyazili, a freshman guard, is about a half hour outside Brussels. On Wednesday, Akyazili told CUBuffs.com that his family and friends are all safe and accounted for, despite a few anxious moments when he woke up Tuesday morning.
"I had all kinds of texts asking, 'Is your family OK? Is everything OK?' " Akyazili told the school website. "I didn't know what had happened ... I checked immediately and saw that they had bombed everything.
