When he arrived at Colorado in 2011, Nelson Spruce never imagined he'd be breaking records.
Lately, that's all the senior receiver seems to be doing.
On Saturday, he got a big one, establishing a CU record for career catches, with 219. He passed the old mark of 215, set by Scotty McKnight from 2007-10.
"Scotty is a guy I met a couple of times coming in," Spruce said. "That was someone I was compared to a lot. He put up such good numbers here, you don't come here saying, 'I'll be there one day.' It's kind of cool to step back now that we got the win and enjoy that.
