Freshman quarterback Steven Montez created a preseason buzz with his big arm and standout athletic ability.
Yet with four games in the books, offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren reports the rookie remains a work in progress.
"I'm excited about Steven," Lindgren said. "He's in the development phase. The same phase that Cade (Apsay) was in last year, where he's learning the offense, and he's doing some things mechanically that we've got him working on. I think down the road he's going to be a great player for us."
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Montez arrived at CU as Scout.
