Colorado head football coach Mike MacIntyre was hoping to take advantage of warm weather as his team began spring practice on Wednesday.
High winds forced the Buffaloes inside, but MacIntyre certainly wasn't complaining. CU opened spring with its first official practice in the new indoor practice facility.
"It's phenomenal," he said. "We came in here and it worked great. We had a tremendous amount of room; we could kick, punt. It was awesome."
The Buffs are hoping to be outside for as many of their 15 spring practices as possible. On Wednesday, the wind would have prevented the Buffs from being able to send staffers up on lift towers to get video of the practice, which is why they moved inside.
