DENVER - The Colorado defense started slow but finished strong. It's a common theme during the young season and one that has helped the Buffaloes to a 2-1 start.
Colorado yielded 14 points in the first quarter but got stingy after that, holding Colorado State to 10 points the rest of the way to pull out a thrilling 27-24 overtime win at Sports Authority Field on Saturday night.
"Our guys found their character and their worth ethic, they found their extra energy," head coach Mike MacIntyre said.
The Buffaloes have won two straight in large part because of their defense.
