PHOENIX — Showing improvements every round, the University of Colorado women's golf team moved up to 13th in the team standings on Sunday, finishing with a 39-over 903 at the PING/ASU Invitational.
The Buffs saved the best for last, shooting an 8-over 296 during the final round, which was just enough to move them past Oklahoma State. The Cowboys finished the tournament 14th overall with a 40-over 904 (300-304-300). CU recorded a 309 on the first day and then took off 11 strokes in the second round (298) at the 6,430-yard, par 72 Papago Golf Course.
"Over the course of the tournament, we got better," CU head coach Anne Kelly said.
