Last offseason, Jimmy Brumbaugh gave a strong recommendation for Kwahn Drake to coach the Colorado Buffaloes’ defensive line. Now, it appears Brumbaugh will be replacing Drake.
According to Buffzone.com sources, CU and first-year head coach Mel Tucker will hire Brumbaugh to coach the Buffaloes’ defensive line. A background check must be completed before CU can officially announce new coaching hires.
For the past two seasons, Brumbaugh, 42, has been the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Maryland. From 2013-16, he was the defensive line coach at Kentucky, where he worked with former CU defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot.
