CU Buffs player faces DUI after Boulder police say he fell asleep at wheel

A University of Colorado football player was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a police officer said he found the athlete asleep behind the wheel of his car at an intersection in Boulder over the weekend.

George Frazier, 20, was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, underage possession of alcohol and a traffic violation, according to Boulder County Jail records.

At 3 a.m Sunday, an officer on routine patrol came up on a car stopped on 27th Way just before the intersection with Baseline Road, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Laurie Ogden.

The officer watched the car remain in the intersection through one light cycle before initiating a traffic stop.
