BOULDER — And just like that, the CU Buffs are a win away from eligibility. And a win away from throwing another big ol’ wrench into the College Football Playoff machine.
The Buffs picked up their fifth win of the season — making it a third straight season of at least five victories — by upsetting the Washington Huskies, 20-14, in CU’s home finale at Folsom Field late Saturday night.
It was the first victory over the Huskies while both were members of the Pac-12 and snapped a nine-game losing streak in the series. CU (5-6, 3-5 Pac-12) hadn’t beaten Washington, anywhere, since a 33-21 victory in the 1996 Holiday Bowl.
