The Colorado women won their first national title in the distance medley relay in dramatic fashion Friday at the NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas.
Colorado's Dani Jones made up significant ground in the final 1,600-meter leg of the relay, as she started off her leg around 10th place and pushed her way into third. In the last 200 meters, Jones sprinted from third place past both Pac-12 foes Oregon and Stanford to cross the finish line .02 seconds ahead of the Stanford team to finish with a time of 11:00.34.
The CU relay began with Tabor Scholl running 1,200 meters.
