CU Buffs defense flips switch in second half, slows down Huskers in OT win

BOULDER — For two quarters, the CU defense was leaky.

The Nebraska run game steamed forward. Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez didn’t miss a pass (9-for-9 for 180 yards). Four possessions, two touchdowns, one field goal — 17-0 Nebraska at the half.

Oh, how things changed after that.

CU’s Mekhi Blackmon corralled Martinez for a sack on Nebraska’s first possession of the second half. A three-and-out for NU followed. Then Alex Tchangam came up for back-to-back sacks on the third possession.

It was just enough defense to give the Buffs offense enough time to find a rhythm.
