Colorado women's soccer player Danica Evans was drafted with the second pick of the third round (22nd overall) of the NWSL Draft on Thursday by the Orlando Pride.
Evans, a native of Lakewood, is second CU player to be drafted in the NWSL, which started in 2013. Amy Barczuk was selected in the second round (14th overall) by the Western New York Flash in 2013.
Evans is coming off an outstanding senior season for the Buffaloes. She started all 22 matches at forward, leading them to a 15-6-1 record and the second round NCAA tournament as the Buffs finished tied for second place in the Pac-12 with national champion Southern California.
