Ceal Barry, who left the sidelines as the winningest coach in CU Buffs athletics history, announced her impending retirement after 43 years in college athletics in news release sent out Tuesday afternoon.
The former CU women’s basketball coach, who spent the past 15 years in administration, will retire effective July 1, closing the books on a career spanning five decades and 37 years at CU Boulder.
“It’s the right time. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in intercollegiate athletics, and I couldn’t have picked a better place than the University of Colorado to spend the vast majority of my career,” Barry said in the news release.
