The CU Buffs are betting on sports gambling.
The Buffs athletic department announced Tuesday afternoon that the university will enter into a five-year corporate sponsorship agreement with PointsBet, a sportsbook founded in Australia.
The partnership is the first between a major Division I athletics program and a sports betting outlet.
“We’re thrilled to have PointsBet as a partner and for the benefits this sponsorship will provide for our student-athletes for years to come,” CU athletic director Rick George said in a news release. “We are impressed with their commitment to raising awareness around responsible gaming.
