It's not the same as Andre Roberson averaging nine points and 7.4 rebounds during the Western Conference finals. And it certainly won't generate the same buzz for Buffs fans as a long-anticipated deep run through the NCAA Tournament.
Nevertheless, a group of former Colorado Buffaloes basketball is getting together this summer to compete with some significant stakes in the balance.
After collecting the requisite level of fan support, Team Colorado will compete in The Basketball Tournament, a $2 million winner-take-all tournament set for July.
According to the team's website, a number of prominent former Buffs are set to represent their former school, including the program's co-all-time leading scorer Richard Roby.
