Colorado's football season opener against Colorado State has been moved up a day.
The Buffaloes and Rams will square off on Friday, Aug. 31, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. for the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown. The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
Originally scheduled for Sept. 1, this game will now mark the eighth time in CU history that the Buffs will play a game in August. The Buffs are 3-3-1 in that month.
This will also be the sixth year in a row that CU will on open the season on either Thursday, Friday or Sunday.
