LOS ANGELES — — The Colorado men's basketball team may have found the mental toughness coach Tad Boyle believes has been lacking for much of the season.
On Saturday the Buffaloes never buckled down the stretch, going play-for-play with USC before prevailing in a 69-65 decision at the Galen Center. The win snapped a run of four consecutive losses for the Buffs against USC and also gave CU just its second two-game road sweep in Pac-12 play since joining the league in the 2011-12 season.
The back-and-forth game was tied 65-65 when a McKinley Wright layup with 2 minutes, 20 seconds left put the Buffs ahead.
