A handful of rules changes in both men's and women's college basketball were met with mixed reactions by players and coaches at Colorado.
The most notable changes in the men's game are shortening the shot clock from 35 to 30 seconds, playing with two fewer timeouts, extending the restricted area from 3 feet to 4 under each basket and allowing officials to use replay to review shot clock violations on made baskets. The changes were approved Monday by the NCAA's Playing Rules Oversight Panel.
Coaches and administrators have been concerned about the pace of play and lack of scoring in the men's game.
