SEATTLE — The University of Colorado track and field program finished up the first day of the Ken Shannon Last Chance Invitational here Friday with four top-five finishes.
The highlight of the day came in the men's 5,000 with Charlie Sweeney bettering his own second-best mark in CU history. Sweeney finished third in the event in 13:36.09, a second and a half better than his previous personal best. Sweeney may double back in the 3,000 tomorrow.
The CU men had a great opening day with a pair of fifth-place finishes from Tyler Sconce in the weight throw and Ian Gilmore in the 200.
