Colorado men's basketball rallies to beat California at home

BOULDER — Colorado didn't score its first basket of the game against California on Sunday until five minutes had run off the clock. The next field goal for the Buffs didn't come for another four minutes, when Thomas Akyazili made a layup to finally snap a 1-for-19 start from the field.

When CU coach Tad Boyle preached this week that his team had to find ways to win when it wasn't playing its best, that kind of horrid start wasn't what he had in mind.

Luckily for the Buffs, they finished much stronger than they started at Coors Events Center, overcoming their early struggles to beat the Golden Bears 70-62 for their third straight victory and fifth in the past six games.
