Colorado lands Davis Webb, Texas Tech quarterback transfer

Texas Tech graduate transfer quarterback Davis Webb has committed to the Colorado Buffaloes, the 21-year-old wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

"Thank you @CoachMikeMac and CU for the opportunity...I have committed to Colorado!" he tweeted.

Webb played three seasons at Texas Tech, starting in his first two before suffering a season-ending ankle injury late in his sophomore year. Patrick Mahomes took over as the Red Raiders' starter. Webb was relegated as Mahomes' backup in 2015.

In 23 games, Webb threw for 5,557 yards, 46 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He is the only quarterback in Texas Tech history to record at least one touchdown pass in each of his first 18 games.
