Multi-sport athletes used to be a huge focus for Mike MacIntyre and his recruiting classes. The logic was sound - these high schoolers usually can’t focus on a specific sport, so they usually are a little underrated, but they obviously have the athleticism to contribute. Addison Gillam is an example of this working out, Isaiah Oliver is another. Drew Carter is good enough to basketball and football at plenty of schools, and more importantly, he’s a great QB.
Carter hails from the state of Oregon, the same state as current starting QB Sam Noyer. Carter plays point guard in basketball and quarterback in football, so he is the leader wherever he is.
