BOULDER — The Colorado men's basketball team was running out of chances to make a statement.
One by one, games for the Buffs against marquee opponents in big situations this season had ended with the same disappointing taste.
That all changed Wednesday night. Their leader had clearly had enough.
Led by Josh Scott, Colorado put a bold, all-caps line on its NCAA Tournament résumé by beating No. 9 Arizona 75-72 in front of a rabid, capacity crowd of 11,309 at Coors Events Center, the third-largest in school history.
Arizona had a chance to tie, trailing 75-72, but Gabe York dribbled the ball out of bounds with 13 seconds left, giving the ball back to the Buffs.
