Colorado Buffaloes win Rocky Mountain Showdown in overtime

If an exciting game at the neutral site in Denver could be considered invigorating for college football in the state, Saturday night's Rocky Mountain Showdown served that purpose.

That's the "neutral" view.

Given the nature of the intrastate rivalry, though, there were few neutral fans in the announced crowd of 66,253 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High as Colorado, down 14-0 early, stormed back and eventually claimed a 27-24 overtime victory.

CU kicker Diego Gonzalez, who was short and wide with a 48-yarder that would have won it for the Buffaloes on the final play of regulation, made the 32-yarder in overtime that ended it.
