SAN ANTONIO — Colorado plans to pay a tribute at the Alamo Bowl to the former Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam, the late running back who died by apparent suicide Dec. 5.
The Buffs will have a decal with the initials “RS” above the No. 19, which Salaam wore during his time at CU from 1992 to 1994. Salaam become just the fourth player in college football to rush for 2,000 yards in a season in 1994, and he won the Heisman Trophy that season in a runaway.
