Phillip Lindsay grew up wanting to be like his father. He watched his dad’s old football game tapes. He wore the same uniform number, 22, in high school. Even played the same position. Two generations of running backs from a proud Denver family with deep football roots.
“That was my role model,” Lindsay said.
Troy Lindsay will be in the stands at Sports Authority Field at Mile High for a 6 p.m. Friday kickoff, Colorado against Colorado State, for the 89th edition of the Rocky Mountain Showdown. And the rivalry is one reminder that father and son differ in at least one aspect.
