BOULDER — To finally find the win column in the Pac-12 play, all Colorado had to do was corral one of the most high-octane attacks in college basketball.
No such luck.
The Buffaloes were unable to keep pace with hot-shooting, high-flying UCLA in a 104-89 loss late Thursday night at Coors Events Center, CU’s fourth straight defeat to open its conference schedule.
The Buffs, who dropped to 10-7 overall, will finish a streak of three straight games against ranked opponents when they host No. 25 USC on Sunday.
The fourth-ranked Bruins, who improved to 17-1 overall and 4-1 in the Pac-12, hit an eye-popping (and school record) 19-of-31 3-pointers, an assaulting barrage that helped them soar past their season scoring average of 93 points per game.
