BOULDER — For years, the Colorado Buffaloes' kicking game was an afterthought only because with Darragh O'Neill and Will Oliver in place, it was never a thought. It was always in good hands — or feet.
But O'Neill and Oliver are gone, and as the Buffs inch closer to their Sept. 3 season opener at Hawaii, competition at both spots remains very much open, CU coach Mike MacIntyre said on Wednesday.
The punting spot, vacated by O'Neill, is down to Alex Kinney, a highly thought of freshman out of Rocky Mountain High in Fort Collins, and sophomore Chris Graham, a former walk-on who was awarded a scholarship this summer.
