BOULDER — University of Colorado football coach Mike MacIntyre said Thursday that the sudden departure of a 2017 Buffaloes signee was “kind of bizarre.”
Sebastian Olver — a 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end/defensive end from Marin Catholic (Calif.) High School — left the program, the university announced Tuesday. Oliver, per a Tuesday report in BuffZone.com, arrived at CU last week and practiced once before abruptly returning to his birth country in Brisbane, Australia. Olver moved to the United States and began playing football at Marin Catholic just two years ago.
“It’s really disappointing,” MacIntyre said. “We worked really extremely hard with him, had to jump through a lot of hoops (in) Australia to come over here at his high school there.
