Colorado senior Miranda Stinson recorded a school record eight goals Sunday, which helped propel the No. 23-ranked Buffs past the California Bears, 17-11, at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif.
Colorado improved to 3-3 with the win and are now 2-0 in Pac-12 play, while the Bears fall to 4-5 overall (1-1 Pac-12).
"To leave California with two wins is big for us, and we need to keep building off of this," CU head coach Ann Elliott Whidden said. "We didn't do a great job today on some of the little things, ground balls and draw controls; we have to have a better effort as we move forward and more of a sense of urgency to finish plays.
